Our location, effective in April, will change to the Las Vegas Country Club, located at 3000 Joe W. Brown Drive, which is just behind the Las Vegas Hilton. Steve Kaplan's presentation, "Be the Elephant," will focus on growing business and will include discussion on topics including: How to get customers to fund growth; how a sales force can lead company growth; when is the best time to expand; how to maximize new business activity and how to use strategic alliances. Kaplan began his career by turning SCA, a basement operation into a $250 million, 1,300 employee marketing, database and market research company spanning in over 23 countries. About the Speaker: Steve Kaplan began his career by turning SCA, a basement operation into a $250 million, 1,300-employee marketing, database and market research company spanning 23 countries. Over the past 20 years, he has owned and advised more than 100 businesses of all sizes and industries restructure themselves, increase their sales by getting big customers, get funding, improve efficiency, boost morale, expand into new markets, and evaluate exit strategies. Recently he has been the managing partner in a company specializing in providing equity and operating advice to businesses. Steve has delivered hundreds of speeches on a variety of business topics and has appeared numerous times on NBC, CBS, FOX, national cable along with radio and print to discuss his experiences and insights. He has also written articles for business magazines in the US and UK. His vision and leadership made BountySCA Worldwide one of the world's leading marketing services, database, and media organizations. He was a member of the executive committee of EuroRSCG, a 176-company conglomerate, and is the founder of The Difference Maker Inc., a company specializing in providing packaged tools and advice across a variety of business disciplines. He is the owner of the investment firm Kaplan Enterprises LLC and a partner in eSkape, a 60,000-square- foot Chicago-area family entertainment center. In addition, Steve is the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Business Week best selling author of "Bag The Elephant: How To Get & Keep Big Customers" (Bard Press 2005) and has two additional books scheduled for publication, the first to be released in February 2007. Steve believes that business and life should be an adventure and that both should be pursued with passion and vigor.
